The NGC 6992 nebula, also called the "Pike," is an emission nebula located in the constellation Cygnus. It was discovered by William Herschel on September 5, 1784. This object is included in the original edition of the New General Catalogue.
The nebula is part of the vast Veil Nebula, which is located on the eastern side.
