Following an old tradition, M27 must be captured every year on July 27. And, by the same tradition, each year it has to be captured in a new way.

This time, the plan was to debut StellaVita, but you can't just quickly set it up and work with it — it even lacks the functionality for manual focusing, and everything is just poorly designed. It might be usable, but first you have to suffer through it.

So, by midnight, I had to quickly disassemble Stella, reconnect the old reliable Nina, and then shoot for 2 hours "without a single break."

I'm surprised how much is visible in the frame, considering this is the most basic ED80 F/7.5 F=600mm, captured near Moscow and aimed toward Moscow (some main stars of major constellations aren't even visible to the naked eye).

We're trying, thank you!

Here there are only 2 hours of total exposure in the bright skies of the near Moscow suburbs, so this was a "you can do this too!" segment.
