LBN576 Garlic * RASA 8" F/2 * 7.5hrs * brightSep 24th, 2026
7 h 34 m
A brighter version, for looking at rather than peering into.
Little garlic bulb.
A faint nebula that standard catalogs don't even know about -- I had to aim by coordinates.
This one needs many nights, but now I'll have to wait until next autumn.

It can't be that on a race, with a hole of 2, there's so little signal, or the filter is completely unsuitable. I say this because I've been shooting this object for 3 years already, you can look in my profile.

Here, two nights were accumulated between clouds. Now it's until next year.
Can you see the nebula on your single shots?

I looked at your single frame. Yours shows better. On my single frame it's not visible: if you don't know there's something there - you won't find it.
The filter, of course, is for fast systems - I took many other frames, there are no problems there.
I can't come up with an explanation for why mine is so dim: you have larger aperture and more photons, but I have less focal length and more photons per pixel (because there are fewer pixels) and with our D and F, my image should be brighter (smaller, but brighter), and it's not.
Maybe the sky was gray (there haven't been truly dark nights in September).
