Another "Cosmic Brain"
The Medusa Nebula, also known as IC 443.
It is located about 5,000 light-years away from us and has a diameter of roughly 70 light-years. The nebula formed after a supernova explosion—though exactly when that explosion occurred is not precisely known. Different sources give different estimates, ranging from three to thirty thousand years ago.

I shot over two nights. The first night I captured 20 frames, and when I stacked them, I realized I needed more data. Two days later, I set up for a full night and went to sleep. While I was sleeping, clouds rolled in, so only 40 good frames remained.

I captured the stars separately—20 exposures at 120 seconds each—and used those. In the end, this is how it turned out.
