C 342 received the nickname "Hidden Galaxy" because it is located behind layers of dust and gas of our Milky Way.
It is also located near the galactic plane, making it difficult to see.
The diameter of the Hidden Galaxy is 75,000 light years, and its radius is about 37,500 light years.
From Earth, its apparent size is 21.4 x 20.9 arcminutes.
It is located approximately 11,000 light years from Earth. It is one of the galaxies closest to ours.
Captured in one night, using a 300/1200 Orion UK vacuum.
