Taken at SAO RAS, October 9 and 10.
I wanted to make a long mosaic of 3 panels.
Panel 1 was for Casper, panel 2 for the Horsehead, and panel 3 for M42.
After the first night, I realized there was nothing on panel 1—the telescope is just too small—so I continued with panels 2 and 3.
The brightness of the objects is very different, and to avoid overexposure, I shot
the Horsehead 44x180 sec, and M42 50x30 sec and 90x60 sec.
The total integration ended up roughly the same, about 2 hours per panel.
I definitely need to shoot more with broader band filters, because there's no explosion of colors.
And as always, the aperture is stopped down to 3.
