M 105 — an elliptical galaxy in the constellation Leo (the uppermost one in the photo), located at a distance of 36.6 million light-years from Earth and having an apparent magnitude of 9.7. Below M 105 is the galaxy NGC 3384. It appears as a normal lenticular or elliptical galaxy, except that its nucleus is very bright due to active star formation. To the right of NGC 3384 is the spiral galaxy NGC 3389. At least two supernova explosions have been recorded in this galaxy: SN 1967C, which reached a peak magnitude of 13m, and the Type II supernova SN 2009md, which reached an apparent magnitude of 16.5m. NGC 3389 is located almost twice as far from us as M 105 and belongs to a different galaxy group — NGC 3338. Besides NGC 3389, the group also includes NGC 3338, NGC 3346, MK 1263, UGC 5832, and PGC 31933.

Imaging details: Sony a7s + TAL-2, total integration 32 minutes, stacking of frames from 9.4.2023 and 20.2.2025 in DSS, post-processing.
