The Fireworks Galaxy (NGC 6946) is located 22 million light-years away and has a diameter of about 40,000 light-years. It lies in the constellation Cygnus, on the border with the constellation Cepheus. The galaxy's angular size is 11.5'x9.5'. The name Fireworks comes from the abundance of bright regions of ionized hydrogen (HII).

Pixel math in the Siril software was used to isolate the H-alpha regions.
