Antares in the constellation Scorpius does not rise high in our latitudes and is not often captured by astrophotographers. But when I saw that bright, pulsating yellow star on the horizon, I couldn't stop myself. Defying all logic, I started shooting at maximum ISO, framing the treetops in the shot. The memory card was already nearly full, but I saved 10 frames for calibration shots (darks) and took 28 photos. I realized it was worth it—the result simply amazed me.
