The Tarantula Nebula (also known as 30 Doradus) is the largest and most active star-forming region in the local universe. Located in the Large Magellanic Cloud roughly 160,000 light-years from Earth, it is a massive stellar nursery known for birthing some of the heaviest stars ever discovered.
