We built and built, and finally we built it. I assembled a refractor using a clearance sale TS 115/7 Triplet APO objective lens. I spent a long time adjusting it—there was strong coma and astigmatism, and I corrected as much as I could.
Today was first light. I also attached a Vixen 0.67X focal reducer that had been lying around for about a year and a half. It took a very long time to find the correct back focus. In principle, there’s still more to fine-tune—I have some concerns about sensor tilt. The resulting setup has a focal length of 566 mm and an aperture of f/4.9.
I only managed to capture lights; I reused darks from a previous session.
