IC 1805, NGC 896 (also known as the Heart Nebula, the Running Dog Nebula) is an emission nebula in the constellation Cassiopeia of the Milky Way galaxy. It is located in the Perseus Arm.

Distance from Earth: about 7,500 light-years.

Glow: comes from hydrogen ionized by the radiation of nearby stars.
Total mass: together with stars, gas, and dust — approximately 2,700 solar masses.

Structure
At the center of the nebula is a small group of stars — the cluster Melotte 15. It contains several bright stars that are 50 times more massive than the Sun, as well as many other faint stars whose mass is only a fraction of the Sun's mass.
