Crescent Nebula NGC 6888 (also designated LBN 203) is an emission nebula in the constellation Cygnus.
Equipment: Celestron C8-XLT, Celestron 0.63 reducer, Svbony SV605CC, Celestron CG5-GT, guide Angeleyes 30F4+Datyson T7M.
240x30sec, gain=130, offset=50, t=0. Taken as a test of imaging capability at 1260mm focal length on the C8 on the night of October 1, 2024, in Pushchino, Chuvashia. MPC:M12 under haze, wind gusts, and FWHM 6-7.
Conclusion - imaging with the C8 and a reducer is possible with a camera using an IMX533 sensor (but not larger - distortions will appear), but you need to catch good atmospheric conditions, refocus during the night (focus shifts noticeably with temperature changes), and accumulate more photons, as the telescope is not fast.
