Why not correct the background? There's a good free program called GraXpert. I've compared it with PixInsight, and it performs on par, sometimes even better, with a simpler and more user-friendly interface.
I practically didn't process it—just stacked it in ASIStudio. The objects were really low in the sky anyway. I'll give it a try when I have time, thanks!
