A portion of the supernova remnant in the constellation Vela, known as the Vela remnant, plus hydrogen clouds.

The explosion occurred 11-12 thousand years ago, at a distance of about 800 light-years from the Sun.

30 hours of imaging in LRGB, Ha, OIII from Namibia.
