And once again, the weather cleared up. I saved up two evenings because it's too cold to sit outside. I shot with manual tracking on a regular tripod without a mount, in series of 10 frames at 1-second exposures. Frame details: focal length 250mm, exposure 1 sec, aperture f/5.6, ISO 1600 (1168 frames), 3200 (10 frames), 6400 (10 frames), darks 36 frames (ISO 1600). In total, 1188 frames, 19 minutes 48 seconds. It was a moonless night, Bortle 6.
The result was pleasing, especially considering my past results were just so-so. Thanks to @poppy8micro for the advice to lower the exposure from 2 to 1 second—the result really did turn out better.
