A supernova in a galaxy considered a "twin" of the Milky Way erupted on July 14, 2025.
It currently reaches 13th magnitude.
It is located almost next to the galaxy's core but is much brighter.

The distance to NGC 7331 is about 43 million light-years.
The physical size of the galaxy is 120,000 light-years.
The apparent size is 10.4'x4.2'.

The sky is still very bright, details are hard to pull out((
