Why shoot the Iris Nebula with a dual-band filter? Isn't it a dust nebula?

I was just shooting other targets, and the Iris Nebula happened to be in the frame as well. I didn’t swap out the filter because I would have had to redo all the settings afterward—once I’ve done the initial polar alignment, I try not to go anywhere near it again…
