One of the most famous and prominent formations on the Moon. It is located in the southern part of the visible side of our satellite. The crater is especially well visible during the full moon due to its bright rays, which formed from material ejected by the impact of a cosmic body and extend hundreds and thousands of kilometers from the center. The crater's diameter reaches 85 km, and its average depth is 4.7 km. Its age is estimated at approximately 108–109 million years, making it one of the youngest large craters on the Moon.
