I now have a new level of APO! Askar FRA500 + 0.7x reducer (f/3.9). I just need to figure out the backfocus for the filter, and that's it. Last new moon, I planned to re-shoot the Rosette Nebula, but I didn't have enough flange spacers. The focal length will increase, but the Rosette will still fit in the frame. The increase will provide more detail. And the faster focal ratio will allow me to capture about a third more signal in the same amount of time. So it will definitely be better!
