The Dumbbell Nebula is a planetary nebula in the constellation Vulpecula, located 1,250 light-years from Earth. This object was the first planetary nebula discovered by Charles Messier. It has an apparent magnitude of 7.4 and a diameter of about 8 arcminutes.
