How did you manage to focus without a Barlow lens? I have an 8-inch Dobsonian and a Nikon D5300, and I can't focus without a Barlow lens.

If you remove all the 1.25" adapters, you'll see a small extender at the very beginning, into which a 1.25" eyepiece sleeve is screwed. You detach this sleeve, screw the extender onto the T-ring, and shoot at prime focus.
