Located in the constellation Canes Venatici. It is 16 million light-years away. The diameter of the main disk is 50,000 light-years. Angular size 14.4'x12.1'. It has two powerful ring-like structures. The inner ring is a site of active star formation, fueled by interstellar gas flowing into the ring from the outer oval bar-like structure.
