I spent a long and painful time shooting the Cocoon Nebula IC5146 in June. From the red-white zone, I managed to collect this over a total of 23 and a half hours.
Revealing the dust and reflection parts from the city is certainly quite a challenge, but gathering another 23 hours—my patience has already run out.

I would still go out of town and capture this in 5-6 hours.

It's a pity I'm not you, and I didn't go.
