I couldn't find this galaxy on our hosting, so I started photographing it, and if the weather permits, I'll photograph it more.
The galaxy was discovered by William Herschel on February 5, 1788, using his homemade 18.7-inch reflecting telescope. He cataloged it as I 200 and described it as follows: "Very bright, very extended, from south to north, 8 inches long, 3 inches wide, beautiful." John L. E. Dreyer included the galaxy in his New General Catalog as NGC 2683 in 1888.
Diameter 9.3 × 2.1 arcminutes
Photographic (blue) magnitude 10.6 mag
Visual magnitude 9.8 mag

The galaxy earned the nickname "UFO Galaxy" due to its resemblance to a flying saucer.
