Markarian's Chain is a group of galaxies that forms part of the Virgo Cluster.
It is named after the Soviet astrophysicist V. E. Markarian, who discovered the common motion of these galaxies in the early 1960s.
Unfortunately, the entire chain doesn't fit in the frame—only a portion is captured here.
