It is located in the constellation Pegasus.
The main features of NGC 7217 are the presence of three optical ring-shaped zones of stars.
It has been suggested that these features were caused by a merger with another galaxy.
The distance to NGC 7217 is 60 million light years.
Diameter 43,000 light years.
Angular size 4.0' x 3.4'
