The Crescent Nebula NGC 6888 was formed by the stellar winds from the Wolf–Rayet star WR 136 about 400,000 years ago. The luminosity of WR 136 is approximately 250,000 times that of the Sun, and its age is estimated at 4.5 million years. It is expected that WR 136 will explode as a supernova within the next few million years. Captured on May 7–9, 2022.
