Yes, there was definitely no reducer. There was a flattener.

A native flattener, it's just that the reducer for this particular optics has a weird price tag—twice as much as the telescope tube itself. So you buy the tube at a reasonable price, then you look up the price of the native reducer and gasp!

William Flattener 1.0x - that's the one. I got it for the telescope-express back then. I didn't worry too much about the spacing, just screwed it in and off I went.
