Hyginus Crater is a small volcanic crater located in the northeastern part of Sinus Medii on the near side of the Moon. The crater is named after the Roman writer Gaius Julius Hyginus (c. 64 BC – 17 AD), author of the treatise "Astronomica," and its name was approved by the International Astronomical Union in 1935.
