One of the brightest and largest galaxies in the southern hemisphere.
Pixel math in Siril was used to add narrowband H-alpha (Ha) data to the broadband RGB image.
Imaging was conducted in September and November 2025.
The galaxy contains a large amount of interstellar dust and intense star formation.
Distance is about 10 million light-years.
Diameter is about 90,000 light-years.
Apparent size is 29.0' × 6.8'.
