Guiding manually—yes, there’s a small chance. A digital camera at high ISO will pick up even the slightest error, though sometimes it works out… If there’s no motor drive on the mount, it’s better to try stacking a series of short exposures—for 55 mm, about 4–5 seconds each, using a remote shutter release, and only adjusting the frame with the mount from time to time…
