Wow, what detail!
The black point could be shifted a bit; there's not enough contrast between the nebula and the background.

I made it darker, but I felt like it was losing the details in the transitions. And it looks different on different monitors. I also made the nebula itself brighter—it loses the sense of depth. I might post some versions later.

But I agree, the gray background makes the construction look a bit cheap.

The brightness of the nebula is fine. To add depth, the LocalHistogramEqualization tool in PixInsight usually works—you just need to adjust the settings. Also, move the sliders a bit in HistogramTransformation—I’m sure the image will look even more impressive.
