First imaging session with the Newtonian reflector after its upgrade. Originally, this was a D114/F1000 mm telescope "from a magazine," with a short tube, a spherical mirror, and a corrector in the eyepiece assembly. Its image quality left much to be desired, and looking at photographs without tears was impossible. The primary mirror was replaced with a parabolic D114/F450 mm mirror, the secondary mirror was also replaced (both were sold as a single set), and the long rack-and-pinion focuser was swapped for a helical microfocuser with a 15 mm travel range. The tube and mounts were kept from the original, as they required no modifications.
