CHI-3-CCD instrument. I really like CCD sensors—there’s a certain softness to them, I can’t quite put my finger on it, and they have a unique way of producing noise. It’s especially interesting when the files are poorly calibrated; you can see how cosmic radiation distorts the sensor in the raw frames. With some particles, you can trace their trajectory, which isn’t always linear—sometimes they look like long commas.
