The most amazing fact about the Pleiades cluster, personally for me: the nebula around the stars in the Pleiades has no relation to the cluster itself, and it is not the leftover gas from which these stars formed. In reality, the cluster, in its motion, encountered the nebula along the way and is now passing through it, illuminating it from within.
