Photo description / processing
The imaging was done in June 2025 and July 2026. The VeraLux Alchemy script from Siril was used to produce a pseudo SHO. M 16 is located in the constellation Serpens at a distance of about 7,000 light-years. Physical size 15 light-years. Total apparent size 80'x50'.
