The photograph was obtained by processing eclipse images captured with a Synta SW ED80 telescope with a 0.8x field corrector (equivalent focal length 480mm) and a Canon EF 70-200 F/4L USM lens (focal length 200mm) at various exposures from 1/3200s f/6 ISO200 to 1/25s f/4.5 ISO800.
