How was Mizar upgraded? As far as I know, the backfocus is minimal, unless you install a low-profile threaded focuser.

I raised the mirror onto higher screws, similar to this video: https://youtu.be/esBO-gt7Sec?si=mJPnijbf4bQIZzMK But they turned out to be too tall—for astrophotography, I can only reach focus with a Barlow lens. If I use shorter ones, I might even manage without a Barlow. Visually, it works fine with Chinese eyepieces.

Ah, I see. Then we need a larger secondary mirror. If we leave it as is, the existing one won't fully intercept the light cone, only a part of it.

Right. Then it makes sense to use a different telescope. So for Mizar, we have what we have.
