The Orion Skewer is a collection of objects—gas and dust nebulae and open clusters—strung along a single axis. It begins with the cluster NGC 1981 (on the left) and ends with the remarkable nebula NGC 1999 (on the right).
This is a standard ten-minute exposure taken with a 70-mm telescope for the new book "Deep-Sky Navigator – 250."
