LDN-1165
Photo description / processing

While waiting for NGC 918 to rise higher, I was photographing an interesting object. LDN‑1165 is a dark nebula (an absorbing nebula) in the constellation Cepheus. The name comes from the Lynds’ Catalog of Dark Nebulae — it was first described in 1962.
