The well-known "Sickle" nebula in the constellation Cygnus. Located slightly south of the central star.
It consists of gas that is made to glow by a hot star at the center of the nebula.
This object also lies in the thick of the Milky Way, so the image shows thousands of stars and background hydrogen clouds.
