The Fireworks Galaxy (NGC 6946) is located 22 million light-years away from us and has a diameter of about 40,000 light-years. It lies in the constellation Cygnus, on the border with the constellation Cepheus. The angular size of the galaxy is 11.5' x 9.5'.
