Good day, could you explain what determines the resolution and file size of the final image? Why do some images have a resolution of, for example, 5000×2700, while others are 1900×850, and the file size of the first is around 10 MB, while the second is only 900 KB?
When shooting with the ZWO ASI 294 MM Pro in bin 1 mode, the sensor resolution is 8288×5644 (46.8 megapixels). Accordingly, in bin 2 mode, the sensor resolution is 4144×2822 (11.7 megapixels). Simply put, the weight of the photo primarily depends on the physical pixel size of the sensor and the sensor size in millimeters.
